3DSurvey Group: Research, Experience, Passion

3DSurveyGroup is an ABCLab unit of ABC Department (ABC-Architecture, Built environment and construction engineering) at Politecnico di Milano. The main topics of its research activities are methodologies and technologies for survey and 3D reconstruction mainly in the field of Cultural Heritage and Environments.

Photogrammetry & UAV

Advanced image-based survey methodologies using terrestrial, aerial, and UAV photogrammetry for 3D reconstruction, mapping, and heritage documentation.

Laser Scanning & Mobile Mapping

Reality-capture technologies including terrestrial laser scanning (TLS), mobile mapping systems (MLS), and LiDAR-based acquisition for complex environments and large-scale heritage documentation.

Topography and Monitoring

Topographic survey techniques and monitoring systems for spatial control, deformation analysis, environmental observation, and precision documentation.

Point Cloud Processing & AI

Point cloud processing workflows combined with AI-assisted analysis, segmentation, classification, and feature extraction for spatial data interpretation and digital documentation.
