Expanding the Digital Documentation of Milan Cathedral’s North Transept
We have recently completed a cutting-edge UAV photogrammetric survey of the north transept of Milan Cathedral, conducted in collaboration with the Mantova Campus of Politecnico di Milano. Using a Hasselblad L2D-20c high-resolution (12 mm) camera mounted on a UAV platform, we captured the area immediately after the removal of scaffolding — an exceptional opportunity to enhance and expand the Cathedral’s digital record.
This latest survey provides ultra-precise 3D data and represents a significant step forward in our ongoing mission to integrate innovation, accuracy, and non-invasive methodologies for the long-term monitoring and conservation of one of the world’s most iconic monuments.
