The registration for the 8th edition of the summer school “Laboratory of Places 2019, History, Survey, Evolution” is now open!<\/p>\n

Politecnico’s students can recognise 4 CFU for their study plan:\u00a0http:\/\/www.auic.polimi.it\/didattica\/workshop\/<\/p>\n The important dates<\/strong> are:<\/p>\n From July 22nd to 31st, 2019: the Summer School period<\/strong><\/p>\n Please, register before: April 30th, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n We will notify your acceptance on May 15th, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n This year the School will take place at Sacred Mount Calvary of Domodossola\u00a0<\/a>, that is part of the nine Sacri Monti of Piedemont and Lombardy<\/a>, all included in the UNESCO<\/a> World Heritage list.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The school aim is to involve the students in a deep study of 3D survey techniques applied to Cultural Heritage<\/strong>, using the latest tools and techniques<\/strong> available.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The course is open to students of architecture, archaeology, and engineering, and professionals in CH field. The high number of tutors guarantee a\u00a0close and focused training\u00a0for the students.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n They said about us:<\/p>\n “I was lucky to be one of the student participants of this summer school (Laboratory of Places 2017 Ghesc and surroundings. VI Edition). Sincerely, it was one of the best things I\u2019ve ever done<\/strong>. At first I was a little reluctant to travel that far (I\u2019m from Spain), worse, I was the only non-italian speaker that year. All my fears vanished the first day: the place was awesome and the teachers and the house staff were so willing to help out. It was a relief to know that they all speak fluent English and, moreover, all lessons\/questions\/answers were in English. My schoolmates also used English as their main language, even during meals and spare time (for that I\u2019m truly grateful). […]\u00a0Our day routine was really intense and cramped<\/strong>: from early morning until late night we were learning, working and developing our new abilities<\/strong>. 10% of the time were lessons<\/strong> (sometimes indoors, sometimes on-site) while 90% were practical activities<\/strong> (field work at Ghesc village, desk job and even outings). What made this summer school worth every penny were the tech-savvy and charming teachers (check their publications, they are enrolled in very interesting research projects). Also, they taught in a direct and easy to understand way<\/strong>, no time for filler! Most of what I\u2019ve learned I am currently using it at work and the rest (printed materials, final renders, etc) I keep them with love. The tutors are competents and always available<\/strong> to deepen the topics identifyed ah hoc according to the personal interests<\/strong>. The 10 days were intense and made of hard-work<\/strong>. We had the occasion to see and use new tools and technologies in the field of 3D survey<\/strong>, all in a beautiful location. We deepen the latest techniques<\/strong> of the advanced survey field, obtaining exstraordinary results<\/strong>! The Lab represented for me a turning point in my university career,<\/strong> adding to my experience an important training piece<\/strong>, which is necessary today in different fields. \nI wanted to write my experience to encourage the undecided to join this summer school. This is more than a greatly useful workshop, this is part of a very needed movement. The perfect mixture between getting your hands on the latest surveying technologies and the preservation of our architectural heritage<\/strong>. Don\u2019t hesitate, what I learned was priceless.”<\/p>\n
